There’s this house in Little Burgundy that grew up listening to piano. And not just any piano.

Piano played by Oliver Jones. Jones, who was born in Little Burgundy and is one of Canada’s top jazz musicians.

Then one day, the house stopped hearing jazz. And a moving truck pulled up. And the house jumped at the sound of what can only be described as tuneful yelling.

Oliver Jones moved out and punk prince Paul Gott moved in. One house, two music giants.

A real estate coincidence? Or is Little Burgundy a hub for two music worlds that have more in common than meets the ear?

I go to a highway, a canal and a cesspool to find out.
